I need to get financed to get a car, and theyre asking for w-2 form!??? |
Question: I recently moved in the US. I started working January 2006. I went to a dealership to buy a car, they said I got approved I just need to show them my W-2 form; do i have that? or do i have to wait exactly for a year to get one? Answer: You shouldn't need a W-2 to get a car. All you need is proof that you have been working for at least 6 months and that you are currently employed. (Pay stubs should be fine.) The car dealership just wants to make sure that you are good for the car loan. If they don't accept your pay stubs (which they should), then ask them if they would accept a letter from your boss stating that you are employed and that you are paid a salary of salary -- with a phone number. |
