Expenses for business?

Question:
What persent of a small home businesses income should be used on expenses?

Answer:
It really depends on the type of business you are running from your home. When first starting out your expenses will most likely out weigh your profits because you'll be doing more marketing in order to gain a customer base and to gain exposure. As the business grows this expense will be reduced overall.

Some of the expenses you will have are: Phone, Fax, Postage, Office Supplies, Insurance (if nec), taxes, advertising, business cards and more.

Also remember that you can deduct part of you utility bills as well as part of your mortgage or rent payments when you file taxes.
