What are the first steps I need to take in order to start a retail website? |
Question: I have already registered my domain name and file my DBA with the county Answer: Okay, now that you have your domain name, you need to have it "Hosted" with some firm. After you've decided on a host, then you also have to build your website pages. What I'd recommend is to go to: http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/default.as... GoDaddy is one of the largest companies for hosting, domains, emails, etc. They have a tremendous help center that is always available, no matter what time of day. I personally have called them at 10:00 pm, and got excellent service. They also supply great email packages, web page builders, shopping carts, and pretty much everything you need to get your site up and running in no time at all. I even over-purchased what I needed when I signed on to them online, and they called me on the phone, and saved me a bunch of money after they found out what I really needed. You can't go wrong with them. After you have that done, you're going to need some product to put on the "shelves".
