Certificate of deposit dividend rates -- paid how often? |
Question: Say I had a CD with a dividend rate of 5%, with $100,000 invested in it. Assuming the money was paid to another account and not accrued to the certificate, does this mean I would be paid $5000 every month or every year? Answer: CD interest is usually paid monthly, but the 5% is a yearly rate. So, you would be paid $416.67 per month. |
