banner advertisements - how much?

Question:
i have a website with about 10,000 visitors per month. its about sport and sporting health. does any one know how much i would be able to get if i try to sell monthly ad banners?

Answer:
Advertising agents usually talk in terms of CPM (cost per thousand viewers); for most media, this is usually around $15-$35; higher if its a premium or specialized media brand. One quick way to figure this out is to check a magazines advertising rate card and compare this to their circulation numbers (e.g. full page ad = $1650, circulation = 55,000, CPM = $1650/55,000 x 1,000 = $30 CPM)

If you have a starter website, you might be able to charge around $5-$15 per CPM/month (=$50 to $150 with 10,000 viewers). I wouldn't charge for clicks at this stage (most advertisers would skeptical about 'phantom' clicks used to artificially inflate click rates).
